9th November 2018
: As you will know dredging started in earnest in mid October and is well underway and on target. At the AGM on the 27th October we received a full update of the progress and plans. The meeting voted to thank Llyr Jones of Gwynedd Council for his commitment and support .

9th September 2018 – Representatives of the VDBHA committee had a successful meeting with Gwynedd Council and Caernarfon Harbour Trust on 5/9/18 – follow up on 5/10/18.Dredging scheduled for late October – dates to follow. An agreement with Gwynedd Council that communications will be directed via Mark Shackleton with notification to berth holders next week. Dredging Area Plan

29th August 2018 – VDBHA receive a copy of letter from Natural Resources Wales  to Gwynedd Council stating that the proposal for maintenance dredging of the dock  will not adversely affect the integrity of any European Site. The VDBHA is awaiting a date from the Council to discuss dredging plans. Copy of letter from NRW dated 3rd July 2018

29th June 2018 – Letter received from Llyr Jones  Gwynedd Council 22nd June 2018 apologising for giving misleading information earlier to the VDBHA but confirming the dredging contract, arrangements and dates for commencement October 2018

9th June 2018 – Llyr Jones of Gwynedd Council apologised to the VDBHA members at a meeting held at the RWYC today for misinforming Dr. John O’ Sullivan (Vice-chair VDBHA) in April that dredging of Victoria Dock would be commencing in May this year. He assured the meeting of Gwynedd Council’s commitment both financial and contractual for cutter suction dredging of the dock to commence in October 2018. He also allayed concerns about similar dredging work due to take place  in October for Pwllheli and Victoria Dock assuring the meeting that they were entirely separate contracted operations and that they would not be using the same dredgers.
